Why You’re Entitled to Compensation

Under EU Regulation 261/2004, you can claim up to €600 if your flight was delayed, cancelled, or overbooked — and the airline was at fault. This includes technical issues, crew shortages, and more.

If your flight arrived more than 3 hours late, and it wasn’t due to extraordinary circumstances (like extreme weather), you may have a valid claim.

Reasons a flight delay or cancellation may deserve review

Flight compensation depends on the route, airline, delay length, cancellation timing, reason given and whether the airline can rely on extraordinary circumstances.

Arrival delay or cancellation timing matters

Boarding passes, booking confirmations, airline notices and arrival times can help establish the basic compensation position.

Airline reasons should be checked

Technical issues, crew shortages, weather, air traffic restrictions and operational disruption can affect whether compensation is due.

Expenses may also need listing

Food, transport, hotel or replacement travel receipts should be kept separate from fixed compensation so the letter is clearer.

The free tool helps you prepare a structured airline letter using the flight details, route, delay and evidence you provide.
